A Deepening

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. (Hebrews 5:12-14 ESV)

Do you find yourself still struggling to comprehend the scriptures and not growing in your faith? At times we may have lulls in our faith based growth. However, if we are continually struggling to grasp even the most basic concepts and precepts of scripture, maybe we need to relook at the depth of our faith and our true desire for God.

You do not have to be a scholar to have a strong faith, study and learn from scripture. However, there needs to be a pattern of learning and a desire to deepen our study. If all we ever do is listen to the Word on Sunday we will never plumbs the depths of knowledge regarding God. If all we want to do is sit and soak and never engage in actual study how can we grow?

Reflect on: Your growth and how what you are doing to deepen your faith.
