Every Aspect

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. (2 Corinthians 4:7 ESV)

Take a moment to consider the jar of clay, your earthen body. Now, I am not asking you to critique some aspect of your body or to shame you by bringing it up if it is not what you would like it to be. I ask you to consider it because God gave it to you, but it is just a vessel that will one day be transformed into your heavenly body.

Now, if you do not have a positive body image that may horrify you. But rest assured, the bodies we have in heaven will not be plagued by what ever may bother us here on earth. All of these things are passing away. When we enter heaven they will not longer be jars of clay, but will be heavenly bodies that we will occupy for eternity.

Why belabor this if all things are passing away? We need to take time to consider that God gave us what we have to peruse one thing; His glory. And He does not make junk. We are how we are, good or bad, because God had a purpose in every aspect of our being.

Reflect on: Are you being all you can be and doing all you can do with every aspect of your being?
