⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 ESV)

What does it mean to submit yourself to God?

Take a moment and think about how that is manifest in your life.

In doing so do you feel like the enemy is fleeing from you are does it feel like he is drawing closer?

It is true that the closer we are to God and God’s plan for our lives, the more the enemy will spiritually attack us. But this is bound to happen. It is our recognition of his tactics and our total surrender to God that causes the enemy to flee. When there is no foothold in our lives, there is no way for him to work his evil.

However, submission is key. We must be completely sold out to God in all aspects of our lives. Otherwise our own pride will get in the way of our faith.
