Restore My Soul

3     He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness[a]
for his name’s sake. (Psalms 23:3 ESV)

Each line of The Lords Prayer holds something special for us. As I was doing my morning reading this line stood out today. I am taking some time off this week as I needed some rest and relaxation from my busy work-a-day world. I have been seeking to restore my soul as well. But, now, late in the week what have I done?

I have rushed around getting all the things I could not do over the weekend done, and my list was a long one.

So today, I have made a point to really step back and do some more targeted soul restoring. I will be spending time outside in God’s beautiful nature, reading my Bible, reflecting and doing some writing in my journal (which I have been pretty remiss about of late).

You see, we cannot hope to be restored, walk in righteousness if we are not taking time to get right with God. Not taking time to read and reflect on His work in our lives and really understand if what we are doing is for His namesake.

Reflect on: Are you taking time to spend away with God to consider your life IN God?
