12 And Jesus entered the temple[a] and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 13 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.” (Matthew 21:12-13 ESV)
God expects His holy places to be places of learning and worship, not a place where the world takes over. He desires that our bodies become the same, temples of learning, praise and worship.
Monday (Matthew 21:12-19, Mark 11:13-19, Luke 19:41-44): Jesus cleanses the temple, driving out the money changers and overturning their tables.
God knows that He must drive out that which is inside of each of us so that we can make space for Him. Otherwise, our faith will always compete with the world, and the world will seep into every crack and crevice of our being. It will make room for the enemy and God cannot have that. We are to be His holy temple and that can only happen when everything else is driven out. The Holy Spirit needs a proper home within us.
Reflect on: What needs to be driven out of your life, lifestyle or body. Make provision now to begin this process.
