18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19 ESV)
Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. The seven days leading up to Easter and the resurrection.
This is a week we should take time each day to commemorate and spend in reflection of our lives and Christ sacrifice. We will be taking a journey with Christ through this week.
Palm Sunday (Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-40, John 12:12-16): Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, met with the crowds waving palm branches and shouting “Hosanna”.
The Jewish people thought this day was about a new ruler coming to break the bondage of Rome. They were shouting “Hosanna in the highest” acknowledging Jesus as their king and looking toward their salvation. However, it was a salvation they were not expecting but one they, and we, needed the most.
Reflect on: Christ coming and His impending second coming where every knee should bow and every tongue confess, Hosanna in the highest!
