Preeminent

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by[a] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. (Colossians 1:15-17 ESV)

We need to look at Christ as preeminent. He is before all things, in all things and all things happen through Him (hold together).

The idea of Christ preeminence is one that tends to get lost in our day to day life. We get rocking and rolling with our day, that turns into the week, the month and the year. Before you know it this time begins to pass without even a nod toward our Lord and Savior. He is no longer preeminent in our lives.

This can often only be seen in hindsight. We look back and realize that great gaps of time have passed without any reflection upon Christ in our lives. This is the distraction the enemy desires and the world obliges with many things to fill our time.

Reflect on: The preeminence of Christ in your life.
