3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. (Exodus 20:3-4 ESV)
Give this a moment of thought; what takes the front seat in your life?
Where are your priorities? What occupies your thoughts? Where does your money go? Where do you invest your time?
If we are honest, we are lucky to spend time with God a few times a day. I say lucky, but luck has nothing to do with it. We use the concept of lucky to denote our busy lives and what we try to carve a little time out for that should be important to us.
If our first and last thought of the day, and many in between is not of God then He is not in the front seat. We have relegated Him to the back seat of our lives, or maybe we have not even given Him a place in the car. We left him back at the curb long ago.
Reflect on: Are you prioritizing time for God in your life? If not, why not? What has become an idol before Him?
