10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)
I think fear drives us far too much. I know there have been times in my life where I lived in a state of anxiety for long periods, which is nothing more than low-level fear. Luckily, God has shown me ways to overcome most of my anxiety, and He can for you as well.
A big part of our fears reside in the unknown. In fact, I would put that at roughly 90+ percent. We simply do not know what is going to happen and we fear unknown outcomes. We do not like the lack of control we feel in many situations. This is a true state, we do not have control. Much that happens in our lives is simply out of our hands.
But there is One who has complete control. The more we give up our will to His will the easier it is to live in a state that is not ruled by fear or anxiety. We let God have His way with the outcomes and just accept where we are in His plan.
Reflect on: Whether your anxiety and fear is simply based in your need for control.
