¹¹ For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. (Leviticus 17:11 ESV)

We are all well aware that blood is life. We do not think about this much unless we have some issue that causes us to need it, or to be treated for some issue with it. Then it can be all consuming.

This is one reason God made blood an atonement for sin. First with animal sacrifices then through the blood of Christ which redeemed us all. Blood is life and without it, either physically or spiritually, we are condemned to death. And while our physical blood is precious to us, we may not take into account just how precious the blood of Christ is to us.
