7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 ESV)
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9 ESV)
The Bible makes it very clear that Jesus is the door that provides entry to Heaven. He is the door of salvation, paid in His blood. We, are to seek, find and knock…and it will be opened to us.
I believe the simplicity of Jesus’ message here may be lost on some. They want to pile their baggage in front of the door and try to deal with all of it before they simply knock and walk in. Jesus does not say “come to me when you are fixed”, no, He says, “come to me broken and let me fix you!”
Our society wants the easy fix, the elixir to drink to assuage us of how we feel. But Jesus says for us to come to him and lay it all down at His feet. “28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV)
So if you are tired and searching today, know that there is a door that can be opened to you. You just have to come to Jesus.
