Satisfied with Good

14 From the fruit of his mouth a man is satisfied with good,
and the work of a man’s hand comes back to him. (Proverbs 12:14 ESV)

Our words and our deeds come back to us. They can either come back satisfyingly or sorrowfully. By what we sow we also reap.

Words from our scripture today and many others tell us that we are gauged by how we live both in heaven and on earth. Many think they can say or do anything and they are owed an outcome. They see their way as the only way and others are fools if they do not follow.

Well, I have been around long enough to see a lot of peacocks turn into turkeys. Still, there are many who strut about expecting the world to follow suit. As Christians we must be more focused upon what scripture tells us and what the Spirit reveals. It is often the soft word, spoken in peace and love that endures. It is hard honest work that provides a more enduring peace than any other. You see both can provide a peace that surpasses understanding.

Yes, we must be guards of what we say and do. Keeping ever mindful that Christ is our example, God the Father watches and the Spirit guides. If we stay true to these and work hard our outcome will be satisfying, if not by the worlds standards then by God’s, and what is better!
