20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:20 NIV)

We may be confronted with much in life, but if we would but take a moment, consider all things and then plan a course of action. Too often we take the circumstances at face value with little thought and run headlong based on the moment.

Joseph was facing a pivotal moment. If he took Mary as his wife he was accepting that she was both still a virgin and was accepting immaculate conception. This is a big jump of faith today. In this timeframe is meant facing shunning and ridicule.

But after considering the situation and his love for both God and Mary he stayed the course.
