3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, (1 Peter 1:3-4)
I do not go a lot of places where I need a reservation. I am just not that special to be quite honest. I often wondered if my doctor started calling his appointments reservations I would be more apt to go because I did feel special. Probably not.
However, you and I have a very special reservation awaiting us in heaven. And nothing could be more special than that!
Our verses today tell of this reservation and the “living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” This is worth restating as well as the inheritance which it allowed us to obtain. The verses go on to tell us that this reservation is imperishable, undefined and will not fade away. You end up just a bit late to a reservation here on earth and it will most likely be given away. Not so in heaven. Not so with God.
These are things we should ponder, considering just how special our reservation with God truly is. He is patiently waiting on us to fulfill our roles here on earth. He too is patiently waiting for those who have not accepted salvation so that their reservations could be made. He desires that no lamb be lost.
Consider today the special nature of the reservation that awaits you.
