Not Running Alone

1 …let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith,… (Hebrews 12:1b-2a ESV)

I do not typically snip scripture out in sections. However, in my reading this morning this section of scripture jumped out at me, so I expect I and others out there today need to hear this.

The race is long and can be very difficult at times. I produce the prayer list for our biker church and it seems to get ever longer. People suffering from job loss, health issues, accidents and family troubles. But Christ understands all of these things as the founder and perfecter of our faith. He wants us to run the race He set before us with endurance. But He knows we cannot do this without Him and He is there for us every moment.

Whether you are enduring a lot this morning or just enduring the remainder of your race, know Christ is there. We need not run it alone. He wants nothing more than to be by our side and hold to us when we stumble, to lift us up when we fall.

You are not running alone. And consider those whose race may be far harder than your own. Often times, reaching out to them lifts us up in times of personal distress. Helping them to know that they too are not alone.
