3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings[a]
and crowned him with glory and honor. (Psalm 8:3-5 ESV)
God has given us a lofty place. I know that it may not seem like it, especially if you are struggling in life right now. But He has made us just a little lower than the heavenly beings and we belong to Him.
The world and the enemy can take away that feeling of just how special we are to God, just how much He desires a fathers relationship with us. He wants you to know that you are loved and there is an actual plan for your life.
I get how life can feel aimless, just something we are surviving at times. This is when we should be outside, not cooped up inside. Observing the work of God’s fingers and marveling over just how much more He cares for us than he does for all the things He made. Is the world and everything in it important to God? Of course. But not more important than you. That should make you feel very special indeed.
Literally, God created the earth and everything that is in it or on it for mankind. Every work of His hand was done in part for each of us. As such, He desires nothing more than seeing that we fulfill the role upon this earth He has in store for us.
We belong and we have a place.
