1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (1 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV)
How broadly do you pray? Typically we pray for ourselves, our close friends and family and maybe those around us. But looking at our world we need to pray much more broadly.
It can be easy to think that our prayers have little impact beyond our closer circle of influence. But really our prayers are powerful and as scripture tells us, the prayers of a righteous man availeth much. So we need to broaden our prayer life because the world around us needs it so very much.
Consider too, that if you are not praying for the broader world and our leaders, who will? We cannot leave it up to the innocuous “someone else”. No, we are called to be prayer warriors who take time to truly think about the needs of the world around us and pray broadly.
This need for our intercession with others and the world around us is also an expectation from God. He did not desire that we only look at our lives, but we looked beyond ourselves, and let’s face it the world really needs it.
So broaden your prayer reach today, expand your boarders.
