Stirred

14 So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the Lord Almighty, their God, (Haggai 1:14 NIV)

Do you need your spirit stirred? Do you need a renewal? A freshening? A reawakening?

I know I go through times where I truly feel the need for God to stir my spirit and awaken my heart. It is just so easy to allow ourselves to get so busy with the business of life that we forget the business of the Spirit.

In our scripture, God was stirring a whole nation. He wanted Israel to come back and to build again their past glory in His name. But the people had to be stirred. There was much to be done and God knew that they all had to have a fervor for what He was about. Then, we see, they came and began to work on the house of the Lord.

Have we taken time away and do we once again need to work on the house of the Lord? If we have not heeded a calling, is God putting it upon your heart to renew a spirit of doing what He ask? It may seem that what He is asking is daunting. Good! That means that if He is scaring you with His plans, then they are truly His plans and He will be working in them for you.

Seek for God to stir your spirit today.
