7 But I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me. (Micah 7:7 CSB)
It is not easy to wait expectantly upon God. His timing is not our timing and we become impatient and may even decide to take matters into our own hands. But when we wait for God to work on our behalf we are fulfilling two aspects of our faith, trust and patience.
Now we can have all the trust in the world in God, but patience is what get’s most of us. We do not want to wait to see how God will work out a situation. And it can be difficult to know when we are to wait and when we should push forward. This is why there is such a great need for prayer. We desperately need to be before God asking for His guidance and praying for our patience to wait upon Him continually.
Our God does hear us. It can seem like He does not, but He is there and He does hear. Our understanding of God must be such that when we look to the Lord we are expecting a wait. The outcome we seek will almost always have an element of growth in it for us. This is just how God works, and we should be happy He does. For many times our prayers are not taking us where we really need to go. They are only focused upon taking us where we want to go. God has a plan and we need to see this manifest in our lives in His time and grow in the process.
