24 “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. (Matthew 7:24-25 CSB)
We have a choice to make. We can build our lives upon The Rock or we can build it upon the shifting sands of another world view. God gives us free will and the chance to choose.
Building upon a solid foundation and with a solid material makes for a solid home. The same can be said for us. We must build a strong foundation upon the bedrock of scripture. We must build the construct of our lives upon the strong material of prayer and loving God, who loved us first. Lastly, we much build upon the sacrifice Christ provided that contained the strength to conquer death.
Otherwise our spiritual home will fall. It must be founded on the stuff that we do not question. If we run into trouble and begin to question the goodness of God, we have not build upon the foundations nor the material He gives us to build strong lives upon.
Consider your spiritual house today. Is there anywhere you have not let God in? Is there something you are keeping to yourself that is undermining the strength of your spiritual structure. It is time to cut out the mold and rot in our lives and build on The Rock.
