Two constants

“Because I, the Lord, have not changed, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed. (Malachi 3:6 CSB)

There is one constant in life; change.

However, there is one thing that does not change; God.

So, we can see that in the world we live in absolutely everything is in some state of change. From the homes we live in, to the cars we drive, the relationships we have and, especially, our bodies. Within the physical world everything is in flux.

But in the spiritual world, our God does not change. And because of this we have not been destroyed. God wishes everyone to come to His saving grace and mercy. And it is this mercy that keeps His hand from dishing out what we truly deserve.

If you feel distant from God you can bet that you are the cause. But, God does not desire this distance and beckons us to come to Him. He wants a close personal relationship and He is waiting patiently for you to return.

Because God does not change we can have an unwavering hope in Him and in the ultimate outcome of all the change we are experiencing on earth. Once we have left this world our bodies will no longer be in a state of decay and the many pains you have endured, physical or mental, will go away.

Thus, you can put all of your expectations on the two constants of change; God does not, everything else does.
