2 The Lord looks down from heaven on the human race[a]
to see if there is one who is wise,
one who seeks God. (Psalms 14:2 CSB)
Our Father is continually looking for those who are living by a strong faith. He says that He looks down to find those who are wise and seek Him. The true question here is are we being wise and seeking Him first? Are we the one’s He sees as wise because of desire to do His will?
I speak with so many people who are living on the edge. Those who are stretched to their limit, worn out and just looking for peace. The biggest problem I see is that they are cast about on this physical plane and not looking up.
It is so easy to want to just keep our heads down and get through life at times. My dad even used to say, “Boy, keep your head down and your nose clean.” Good advice in some situations but not when it comes to God. He wants our head up (and yes, our noses clean).
He wishes us to be like the wise in our scripture. When we seek Him first, what falls into place here on earth is what He deems as necessary. Maybe it is not exactly what we expected or wanted, but it will be for our best in the long run. Maybe, just maybe, we will not know this until we are in heaven and God shows us the tapestry He wove throughout our lives. And what a rich tapestry we will see!
