Shine Out

16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 CSB)

If I asked you who this week saw Christ manifest in your life, what would you say?

Do you believe that you conducted yourself and your dealings with others that reflected Christ work in your life?

Maybe those questions make you uncomfortable. Maybe they make you feel put on the spot and resentful for me asking. But if so, it is not in my asking that is making you feel that way, but it is in the Spirit’s conviction.

We have a light to shine upon others that should be so manifest in our lives that it lives for all to see in our actions and words. It should be manifest in our reactions and our dealings. It should be a light we shine out before others.

I am calling you out this morning as I am myself. I had good days and bad days this week of letting my light shine. I had selfish days and selfless days. The key is to have many more of the light shining days than the hiding it under a bushel days.

We must strive to make sure that we are shining our light out more than we are allowing to stifle the light within. In doing so people will recognize that it is not us, but Christ that lives in us. That there is another, better, way.
