11 He protects his flock like a shepherd;
he gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them in the fold of his garment.
He gently leads those that are nursing. (Isaiah 40:11 CSB)
The world can be a very hard place. It does not provide an easy welcoming place for us to sit securely without a lot of preparation on our part and a lot of trust in God.
But God, on the other hand, protects and gathers us in when we are hurting, gently leading and nursing our wounds. But this is a relationship that we must foster and a trust we must gain even though it is given freely. It is often simply our inability to see beyond our own situation to recognize just how much God does for us.
When God gathers us in and we are being carried we can often miss His acts of every day grace. God is in the simple things that nurture our spirit even when we are hurting. His desire is to protect, care and guide us and He so in the smallest of ways. He wants to provide for us in ways that are beyond our own doing. In this He also shows us his power and the reach of His capabilities which are fare beyond our own.
So look for God in the simple thing, in how He is protecting and nurturing you. In these He is looking not only after us but providing growth for our faith.
