17 And no one puts[a] new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.” (Matthew 9:17 CSB)
I have been feeling like an old wineskin of late. Lots poured in and lots poured out. Life can do that to you, make no mistake.
So, I am going to be taking a week long sabbatical. To date I have written these devotionals every day for over 1600 days, and I still love doing it. In fact, I am not sure I can even step away for a week to allow some fresh wine to but put into a new wineskin for me. But I am going to try.
I covet your prayers this next week while I rest and renew. Please pray for God to build me up and give me His wisdom when it comes to scripture. Because these words do not come from me. Ask that He provides both a renewal for this old wineskin and for a strong direction for my ministry.
For you, I will be praying the same. That His Word flows into you and when I return that you too will return to read His wonderful words, and my poor excuse for commentary. Know that you too need fresh wine poured into your fresh wineskin from time to time.
If you are missing these, there are plenty to go back to on my website www.XploreChrist.com
Have a wonderful week.
