Walk In

10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

What does it mean to walk in our good works?

Well, let’s step back first and consider what we were created in Christ to do.

You see we were not just created in Christ, we were created for good works. Meaning that there is both an internal and an external element in our faith. A company I used to work for had an internal slogan: Go, See, Do. You see, they wanted us as employees to experience how others did their jobs and assist where we could. It provided a greater sense of our own jobs when we experienced those of others in the context of the company’s services.

If we do not step outside of the church and ”walk in” others shoes how can we hope to ”walk in” our own good works. In this way we create an opening to showering those good works upon others.

So, to answer our first question, to walk in our good works is to make them part of our daily lives. They need to become habits that set us apart and make us different from others. They should be things we are looking to do for others that manifest Christ in our lives.

Works do not save us but faith without works is dead.
