Wisdom Sought

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door[a] will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 CSB)

Life is a learning experience. When we stop learning, we stop living. I have seen this played out with so many people.

Now this does not have to be academic learning. In fact much of what we learn later in life is more about experiential learning. But either way a healthy curiosity and a desire to improve are the foundations to life-long learning.

I find scripture a place to go where I am continually learning. Even well worn scriptures like today’s can present new things as God opens our minds to His knowledge and wisdom.

You see, while today scripture is primarily focused on man’s search for salvation it too reflects our need for God’s wisdom. It represents God’s desire for how we approach life, seeking Him first for the insight He can open to us. It also represents God’s promise that he who seeks will find. Greater knowledge regarding salvation and wisdom will be opened to us.

Seek and you will find.
