10 You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He protects the lives of his faithful ones;
he rescues them from the power of the wicked. (Psalm 97:10 CSB)
In the namby pamby world we live in we want to cancel others but then we turn around and embrace the evil around us.
Now I realize that you may never have heard the world namby pamby. So let me give you a definition from Dictionary.com; adjective; without firm methods or policy; weak or indecisive: lacking in character, directness, or moral or emotional strength: weakly sentimental, pretentious, or affected; insipid.
Does that sound spot on today?
When we are strong in our faith we will not always be liked. When we hate something, like sin, we do so because God hates it. We can still do these things in love, but if we stand strong we may find ourselves in the crosshairs of today’s namby-pamby society.
I am ok with that.
We need to have a backbone. We need to stand strong in our faith and beside God. Biblically, this is going to cause us issue with others at times. Even when we are displaying God’s love we may be persecuted for our very doing so.
But I will not live a namby-pamby life.
