5 and 2

38 ….They came back and reported, “We have five loaves of bread and two fish.” (Mark 6:38b NLT)

We may often be given limited resources to get what needs to be done, done. In our work lives this may be due to budget limitations or misunderstandings about the scope of work to be completed. In our faith and ministry life it is a divine plan.

You see, God does not want us to be self-sufficient. He wants us to see His hand in the work we are being asked to do. We need to look at our faith life as being full of God-sized events, not us-sized events.

If we only ever go after us-sized events then we do not give God room to work. Furthermore, us-sized events can only have us-sized outcomes. I mean, consider the act of speaking to a single person about our faith. Without God in the forefront of this small conversation with one person, there is little room for His God-sized work of salvation.

What can God do with one person?

What did he do with 5 loves of bread and 2 fishes!
