The Strength Allowed

29 I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me. (Colossians 1:29 CSB)

The latest fad diet, the newest workout program, piece of equipment or the latest supplement cannot provide the most important strength you need.

We fuss over our bodies, and that is not in and of itself a bad thing. Getting some exercise each week is healthy for both body and mind. Furthermore, it is the only one we are given here on earth so we should look after it.

But the strength that works within us is preparing the way to our new heavenly bodies. It is doing a work in and through us so that our faith exercises pay heavenly rewards.

This type of strength building works within us and prepares us for all that God has planned for us to do here. Make no mistake, He has a role for you to play. He is building within you the strength to powerfully work in His name.

Yet, too often we do nothing with this new found strength. We allow it to atrophy because we never use it. We expect The Spirit to build us up, but once the strength is there to carry out the task we only use it for our ends.

With the strength allowed are you expending it upon yourself or the world, or for God?
