Distraction or Truth

Who among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? (Matthew 7:9 CSB)

I post these devotionals on a number of platforms. Each of these social platforms have their place and at times there are those who get offended by anything religious that gets posted. They feel that the message is inconsistent with the platform.

But I ask myself, why do they then continue to read the post.

Just like any other media, we make a choice to consume or not consume what is there. No one is forcing us to read or watch. So I propose that when we do, we are either searching for truth or searching for distraction.

Thus, what I seek here is to provide the manna (bread) of God’s word and not the stones that the world gives. This is not of me, but of God. His Word. His Plan. His Love. Poured out for others to consume.

Yes, we do seek distraction in our media. But when distraction becomes nourishment for the soul, so much the better.
