In Your Right Mind

15 The spiritual person, however, can evaluate[a] everything, and yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone. 16 For

who has known the Lord’s mind,
that he may instruct him?[b]

But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:15-16 CSB)

Are you in your right mind?

No, seriously, consider for a moment if you are in your right mind?

We use this phrase to denote someone who is thinking clearly. Someone who does not make rash decisions, but is more calculating and considerate.

But does that really put us in our right mind?

Because if we have faith our right mind should be the mind of Christ. The Spirit fills our soul but does Christ fill our minds?

I know it can be difficult due to our human nature to fill our entire being with Christ. We have our sinful nature that battles against this. We have the enemy who works to distract, deceive and destroy us and the world is a constant buzz in our ears.

Battling all that keeps us from our right mind begins with The Word in our right hand.

In this way each day we can strive with The Spirit in our soul, Christ in our minds and The Word in our mouth. By doing so we can test all things against God’s standard. We can begin to know what being in our right mind truly means.
