11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation[a] for all people, 12 instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, (Titus 2:11-12 CSB)
Do you wish to live in a different age? To go back many years or maybe ahead many years? Some of this may be due to the romanticizing we see in movies or read about in books. But the present age is all we have.
I think, at my age, I have been allowed to witness a lot of history. My parents were of the Greatest Generation that lived through the difficulty of the Great Depression and World War II. I watched as we waded through many other military encounters, and I lived through the baby boomer generation and the prosperity of the 80’s and 90’s booming economy. I watched in horror while the towers fell on 9/11. I also watched when we went to the moon. I realize I have seen and experienced a lot.
There are times when I too wish for a different age, but God has seen fit to have me here…Now. He has seen fit to have you here…Now, even if the brackets for your Now are different from mine.
We have a choice to make Now. We can either let the age we live in, with all of its ungodliness bend us to it’s will, or we can learn to live in a sensible, righteous and godly way. In other words, we can choose to make the most of Now by doing Now God’s way.
You have the brackets you were given to fill one way or the other.
