11 Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always. (1 Chronicles 16:11 CSB)
As I sit and look out my window this morning the sky is a beautiful shade of turquoise on the horizon that fades to pink then to blue as my eyes move up. I know within those colors there are many scientific reasons I see them as the world God created present them to me.
Yet, to my heart, there is simply beauty.
And here in lies the strength of God.
We tend to think that strength lies in knowledge, skill, science, technology; essentially, in man’s creations. But true strength lies within the simplicity and beauty of how God has fashioned this world and how we exits in it.
We sit in our comfortable, conditioned spaces and marvel at the conveniences of our modern life. Yet, when something simple goes away those technological advantages are simple boat anchors tied around us.
When we step out and experience the world the way God offers it up to us we can see His face in even the colors of a morning sky.
There is strength in simplicity, and God shows up when we take the time to look deeply.
