5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6 CSB)
When I write these daily devotionals I am focused on how we might improve ourselves and our faith life. But some may be still struggling with exactly who Christ Jesus is. Let us be clear here, as our scripture notes; Christ is the mediator between God and mankind. He gave himself up for us on the cross as a ransom for all. Christ died on the cross for our sins.
We, as humans, like to interpret scripture in many ways. Mostly wanting to bend it to our will and desire. But God is very clear here. There is one man, Christ, who is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Only through his atoning blood may we come to God.
The proper time is now, and has been since Chris crucification. We live in a world that wants to create it’s own version of God and create many paths to heaven. Each religion points to their way as THE way. Yet this is not what scripture says. If we forget dogma and simply read the scripture the formula is simple and clear.
But we want our way and, as Israel did so many years ago, we creatE our golden idols and worship many gods.
But that is not the way. The Way is Christ.
