4 Do not give the devil a foothold.  (Ephesians 4:27)

When we leave something open to the enemy, you can bet that he is going to exploit it 100%.

Truth be told, most of us hold something out. Something that we do not want, or have little power over giving up.

Look at your life and consider every little thing that might draw you away from God. All of the things that we might hold out and not relinquish to God’s sovereign hand. It is in these things, even when they seem very small and unimportant in nature, we give the enemy a foothold.

We may not have to scrutinize our lives closely, but have a something big that we cannot seem to let go of. Remember, that letting go is exactly what we need to do. Especially in the bigger things where there is not simply a foothold but the enemy seems to have a stranglehold.

In either case we can come before God and lay down our burden. Because face it, that is what it is. It haunts us more than we realize and cast a shadow over our lives.

Open up and let go of that which you might be holding out. Ask God for deliverance.
