7 so that the proven character of your faith—more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:7 CSB)
A life well proven in faith toward God, our families and mankind is a life well lived.
What does this mean? Well, I have given much thought to that yesterday and today as I lost someone who I believe was well proven.
He was well proven in faith. I watched this man lead his family spiritually as rock of faith and proved that in how he lead his life. His was a testimony less spoken but more lived. Faith manifest in his actions.
He was well proven with his family. He truly was the patriarch of the family and the extended family. He was tempered and every aspect of his family life reflected what a man should be to a family. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
He was well proven to mankind, as he was a well liked and well respected man. A man who people knew they could count on. One who did more than simply live out his life, but one who invested in others lives.
Living a well proven life, one that once at its end others praise not only for who you were but for who you reflected (Christ), is truly a life worth living.
