25 Don’t let your heart turn aside… (Proverbs 7:25a CSB)
Distraction is one of the enemy’s most used tools.
Anything that pulls our focus away from God, gives the enemy a foothold to begin widening into the Grand Canyon.
These distractions often come in the guise of something useful, needed or purposeful. However, as the distraction grows and our time and energy go into whatever we are distracted with we turn aside from God.
Worse yet, often these distractions lead to other distractions. All of this time distracted from God makes us more and more easily guided by the enemy until we are being lead around without even knowing and we have no idea where we are headed.
However, with God, the second we turn back He gladly accepts us, the prodigal son (or daughter). We are not left standing outside in the cold. God welcomes us back with open arms.
But wouldn’t it be better to get a handle on our distractions before He had to.
