24 Therefore I tell you, everything you pray and ask for—believe that you have received[a] it and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24 CSB)
I do not know about you, but I have trouble believing something will happen before it does. Maybe I am too pragmatic for that.
However, today’s scripture calls for a different kind of faith. One that believes in an occupancy before it happens. Effectively, what God is saying is that if we cannot believe that what we ask in prayer has already happened, then it will not.
Now, I do not believe that God is saying that everything we ask will happen in the exact way we want. But what I do believe is that we must show faith God’s ability to create an outcome before He is willing to create the outcome.
This makes sense, as we must show faith and belief even in ourselves so that confidence pulls us through. So too are we showing confidence in God and what He is both willing and able to do for us.
One fear I harbor is going to heaven and being shown all I could have done had I just shown a bit more faith.
Thus, we must focus on what has been done not doubt about what might be done for anything to actually happen.
