I was hoping by this stage of life I would be at a place, personally, where I did not stumble and had control. Then I got here and realized that there is no stage in the human path where this seems to be true.

I am sure many get closer than I ever will to being fully mature and feel perfectly in control. But my life has not been one where I feel I will be able to obtain this level of control or gain lasting comfort.

And maybe we are not really meant to. Because when we gain this level of maturity, where we are fully in control, then where is the room for God to continue to work in our lives.

No, I believe God puts challenges in front of us so that we must continually lean upon His support, will and plan.

Comfort and control would be a nice place to visit, but maybe we are not meant to live there.
