Surely as sparks fly upward

7 But humans are born for trouble
as surely as sparks fly upward.
8 However, if I were you, I would appeal to God
and would present my case to him. (Job 5:7-8 CSB)

If any portion of scripture defines well the difficulty we can find ourselves in and how to deal with it, it would be Job.

As noted in our scripture, humans are born for trouble, it is part of our nature.

However, if we appeal to God and present our case before Him he will hear our prayer.

Now, this is where we expect God to answer us in our desired way and this is where we tend to get sideways with God. He is not going to answer in our time or, necessarily, in our desired way. He is going to answer in a way that is best for our deliverance and His glory. That may even mean Him saying, No.

Thus, we must be patient and wait upon the Lord. Knowing that no matter what, good or bad, He has our best interest in mind even if it does not equal our comfort.

Remember we are born for trouble, as surely as sparks fly upward.
