24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and more will be added to you. (Mark 4:24 CSB)

Do you put a limit on just how much good you do? Or maybe you measure out your kindness? How do you measure that?

Well, our scripture today tells us how we measure what we do is how we will be measured.

We may have to put a measure on how much we give based on our funds. But even then it is hard to out give God. But when it comes to how much compassion, kindness, good works or other service to God we must be aware that we are being measured by our willingness.

The beauty of this scripture is the last statement. Because, even though we should be generous to God in our service, it says that by our measure “more will be added to us.”

So, if our measure is full, much will be added to us. If our measure is slight, more will still be added, but by our measure.
