13 each one’s work will become obvious. For the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire; the fire will test the quality of each one’s work. (1 Corinthians 3:13 CSB)
We may feel, at times, that we are being put to the test in our business lives. Critical projects fall behind or come under critical scrutiny and we can feel as if our work is under fire.
But what if all of that meant absolutely nothing?
What if we have toiled our lives away and have nothing to show for it?
I have often written and spoken about significance over success. But even what we have worked for under the ospice of significance will be put to the test one day. It will all be revealed by the fire of judgement.
If we have only worked for our success and not stored up any good works in God’s eyes all that success will mean nothing. Our lives will be revealed to us in the rawest sense, and we will clearly see under God’s judgement what had value.
Now, as believers, this will be a revelation under fire not a condemnation. It will be a time to reveal our good works in life, because Christ has already paid for all the bad works or wrongs. This judgement will be to reward us for those jobs truly well done in our life in God’s eyes.
If your life were put to this test today what would it reveal?
