Don’t Stand Alone

11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11 CSB)

In a book I am reading right now it talks about the fact that the Armor of God is all forward facing. It calls for the need for us to have those around us, much like a military unit, who protect our back as we protect theirs.

This rang very true both from a fighters point of view and from our great need for the fostering of the body, which is the church.

We cannot expect to be fully effective alone. For a cord of three strands is not easily broken. We need those around us who both protect our backs and hold us accountable. Without this we are very susceptible to falling to the enemy’s firey darts and schemes.

We can only stand so much alone. More than we realize, we need those around us to keep us standing at times. We must not neglect what they or we do to keep the body strong when we work in unison with one another.

Stand strong, but know when to not stand alone.
