24 I say, “The Lord is my portion,
therefore I will put my hope in him.”

The Lord is my portion.

In our society of want over need, our portion seems to never be filled. We alway are looking for more, more, more. But with the Lord, and in our faith life, the Lord IS our portion. He fulfills and embodies everything we need and often goes further into what we want. He fulfills our whole portion.

Therefore, I will put my hope in Him.

Because of the firs part of our verse, we can then put our full hope in God who is our full portion. We need not trust in anything of this world, but know that God is involved in every aspect of our lives. Thus, we can put our full hope and trust that God will work in His way and His time. Even when we cannot see that from our earthly perspective.
