Encouraging Words & Actions

12 For he will rescue the poor who cry out
and the afflicted who have no helper.
13 He will have pity on the poor and helpless
and save the lives of the poor. (Psalm 72:12-13 CSB)

I was reading a number of post from people who are struggling to find I work. They ranged from those who just wanted minimum wage, manual labor type of work to those very well educated looking for something more.

This thread covered a span of years and the one thing evident in every voice was desperation. Desperation knows no societal level. This level of desperation also brings with it a loss of hope.

Our scripture today talks to how God hears those in need. But while God can do anything, he employees us to be His hands on this earth.

I have heard from those who have been lifted out of desperation by the kind acts of others. This is something we desperately need right now.

Take a moment today and reach out to someone you know who may be hurting or may be out of work. Give and encouraging word or lend a helping hand. Now, more than ever, we need to lift our brothers and sisters up.

We may not know what people are going through but we need to be sensitive to what is happening around us.
