Sufficient

7 Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:7-8 CSB)

I was always told that you cannot outgive God.

This is so very true, as he gave his only Son to die on the cross for each of our sins. He made for us the ultimate sacrifice.

But I think this too extends to our giving, because God did not stop giving at the cross. God takes account of how we give of our time, talents and treasure.

Of these things too I believe Go gives back constantly. It may not always be in ways that are clear to us, but he does.

I know simply in the category of treasure that God has seen my family through good times and bad. He has made sure that we always had enough.

We see that God promises this in the latter part of the verse. God gives us overflowing grace, giving us what we need so that we may excel in every good work.

God may not give me a mansion on a hill, but I am sure that what he does give me is sufficient.
