15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” (Romans 8:15 CSB)
Many of us are slaves to fear. Oh, we mask it in may different ways, but still it lurks in the background threatening to swallow us whole.
“Abba, Father!”
If only we would immediately call this out when fear begins to overwhelm us. Fear is the enemy’s tool. In fact it is one of his favorite tools, second maybe only to lust. In fact pretty much all of his tools are wrapped up in lust, fear and pride.
“Abba, Father!”
But once again, we need only to cry out if any of these three are swallowing us. Once again focusing our eyes and our intent upon the one who can help us to overcome. We are sons and daughters of adoption. We need not fear.
“Abba, Father, thank you!”
