2 Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1:2-4 CSB)

Some troubles we encounter are there to test us and to produce endurance.

Much like an athlete, without being tested we are not capable of achieving our best in life. While the testing may be difficult and the trial long, we are meant to come out the other side better than we went in.

While this may not always feel good, it is meant for our improvement and the strengthening of our faith.
