12 Lord, you will establish peace for us,
for you have also done all our work for us. (Isaiah 26:12 CSB)
Note that this scripture is in past tense.
We most typically come to God forming our prayers as petitions. Questions to be answered by God. But God already knows our needs and is in the process of answering our prayers before we ask. Maybe not always the way we necessarily want them answered but in the best way for us that God knows better than we do.
However, something changes when we pray in the affirmative as if our prayers are already answered. It changes our mindset and moves us closer to the will of God. Knowing and affirming that he is sovereign and is already working on our behalf. Doing this also assures us during dark times that God is there, knows our needs and wants only the best for us.
This simple change in the way we pray can bring about profound changes in how we see and live our lives.
